On Tuesday, according to ARY News, Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), requested party members and supporters to persist in their quest for true freedom, as police arrived at Zaman Park to apprehend the ex-prime minister.
In a Twitter video, the PTI leader encouraged citizens to stand firm and advocate for “Haqeeqi Azadi” (real freedom) and the enforcement of the rule of law.
Imran Khan has expressed his belief that the nation will not respond if he is arrested, and he has called on party workers and supporters to prove him wrong.
The former premier has urged the people to show that they are a living nation by continuing their struggle for real freedom and leaving their homes. He has also stated that he will continue to fight for the Rule of Law’s supremacy.
Even if he is jailed or killed, he wants the nation to prove the government wrong by showing that they can struggle without him. He added that the nation would never accept the “worst slavery of thieves.”
It is worth noting that the Islamabad police have used water cannons and tear gas to disperse PTI workers who gathered outside Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence in Lahore.
This comes after a district and sessions court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Imran Khan for failing to attend the hearing in the Toshakhana reference. The court has instructed the police to arrest Imran Khan and present him in court by March 18.
The police spokesperson has confirmed that they have reached Lahore to arrest Imran Khan on court orders. In response to reports of the arrest, PTI leader Hammad Azhar has called on all party workers to reach Zaman Park in Lahore and remain peaceful.
