Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KPK) Governor, Haji Ghulam Ali, has announced the date for the provincial elections as May 28, 2023, after a meeting with President Dr. Arif Alvi and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Earlier in the day, President Alvi had urged him to immediately announce the election date to prevent any potential complications.
This came after the Apex Court had directed the KP Governor, in consultation with the ECP, to promptly set a date for the general elections to the provincial assembly, as nearly two weeks had already elapsed. The announcement was made through a press release.
