Pakistan Salary Increase by 30% in Budget 2023-24: When we talk about conveyance, we usually mean traveling. Whether they’re teachers or non-teaching staff, government employees often have to travel daily from their homes to their offices. To meet their needs, the Government of Pakistan has included some allowances in the employees’ basic pay. These allowances, such as medical allowance, house allowance, and conveyance allowance, are typically tied to their basic salary.
Budget 2023-24 Pakistan Salary Increase
As we are all aware, the Government provides a conveyance allowance. However, due to the current inflation and economic situation in the country, it is no longer sufficient. Most employees are commuting via their personal vehicles, such as cars and bikes, while others rely on public transport.

With the increase in petrol prices, the current conveyance allowance is not enough to cover their monthly expenses. The fare for public transport has also risen.
Female employees are unable to drive cars or ride bikes, so they must use public transport. According to analysis, monthly traveling expenses can range between 10,000 to 25,000 rupees per month.

The conveyance allowance was last revised in 2014, and since then, we have seen a significant increase in petrol prices. Employees are hopeful that the government will raise the conveyance allowance to account for the rising costs. Below is the existing Conveyance Allowance (CA) for employees from BPS-01 to BPS-16.
The government is already giving its attention to the current situation, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for a cabinet meeting to discuss salary and pension increments. It is anticipated that there will be a rise of 15% to 30% in both categories.
Since the majority of employees in BPS-16 or higher positions utilize a car, it is suggested that their allowance should be Rs. 15000 per month. Meanwhile, those in BPS-01 to BPS-15 who are using a bike should receive a conveyance allowance of Rs. 7000 per month.
