Faiz Festival 2023 Schedule

The schedule for the 7th three-day International Faiz Festival, organized by the Faiz Foundation Trust, has been released. The festival is set to take place from 17th to 19th February at Alhamra Arts Council and will feature more than 60 events. Participants from various countries including Pakistan, America, Britain, India, and Canada will be attending the festival.

On the first evening of the festival, the audience will enjoy a play titled ‘Anhi Mai Da Sufna’ presented by Ajoka Theatre. Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan will perform on the opening day of the festival. The second day of the festival will feature more than 30 sessions, where renowned individuals from different fields will speak. There is a long list of distinguished speakers who will be participating in the festival over the three days.

Neelam Ahmad Bashir, Amna Mufti, and Tanveer Anjum will participate in a session that focuses on Bushra. Another interesting session titled ‘Female Representation in Pakistani Cinema’ will have renowned actresses Sajal Ali, Samia Mumtaz, Sania Saeed, and Simi Raheal as participants. Furthermore, there will be a special session with Sarmad Khoosat, who will discuss his journey as a film director.

According to Ms. Hashmi, the festival promises a diverse range of performances, including musical acts by popular singers such as Shafqat Amanat Ali, Laal Band, and Rizwan Wali Muhammad, the son of the late legendary singer Wali Muhammad. Moreover, Zia Mohyeddin will delight the audience with readings and recitations of Faiz’ poetry. Farah Yasmin Sheikh and her troupe, all the way from San Francisco, USA, will perform Kathak, while classical dancer Adnan Jahangir and Yousaf Kerai from Karachi will also take the stage.
