Rain & Thunderstorms Expected Across Pakistan: Weather Alert

Rain & Thunderstorms Expected Across Pakistan: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather update predicting rain and thunderstorms across the country. The latest update indicates that a westerly wave is expected to enter the upper parts of the country on 15th April and then spread to the western and central regions.

According to the weather update, there are chances of rain, dust storms, and thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms in various regions including Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, and others from the 15th (evening/night) to the 20th April, with occasional gaps.

Expected Rain Dates in Pakistan

Furthermore, Kurram, Waziristan, Kohat, Quetta, and other regions may also experience rain, dust storms, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms on the 17th and 18th of April.

In addition, light rain, dust storms, and thunderstorms are expected in Sukkur, Larkana, Multan, Lahore, and other regions on the 17th and 18th of April.

The weather conditions may cause damage to loose infrastructure and standing crops, particularly wheat crops, and farmers are advised to consider the weather forecast while planning their activities.

Moreover, there may be risks of landslides and flash floods in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, Murree, and Galiyat on the 18th and 19th of April.

The PMD has also advised tourists to remain cautious during the forecasted period.
