The Academy has been mandated to train and develop new entrants, as well as, mid-career capacity development resource addressing the training needs of other national and provincial law enforcement agencies, particularly in the areas, in which FIA have comparative specialized expertise like

1. International law enforcement cooperation
2. Tackling transnational organized crime
3. Technical and forensic investigations
4. All of these
