When two bodies move toward each other with constant speeds the distance between them decreases at the rate of 6m / sec. If they move in the same direction the distance between them increases at the rate of 4m/sec. Then their speeds are________________?

Correct option is C 5ms −1 and 1ms −1
Given, Distance decreases with 6m/s Distance is increases =4m/s
Let v 1 ,V 2 is the velocity
So the relative velocity is
v1+v2=6m/s…..1
v1 −v2 =4m/s………..2
Adding equation 1 and 2 then we get,
2v1=10m/s⇒ v1 =5m/s
Put this value in equation 1 then we get,
v 1 +v 2 =6⇒v 2 =6−5=1m/s
