FBISE Grading System Formula – Federal Board Scheme

The Federal Board is responsible for recording students’ marks obtained in the annual SSC and HSSC examinations, but these marks are represented solely in the form of grades. Therefore, it is crucial for students to familiarize themselves with the grading/marks system and understand how to calculate it.

It’s important to note that candidates who have successfully passed the Secondary/Higher Secondary School Certificate examinations from boards of education other than the Federal Board will not be provided with an FBISE grade.

For candidates who have qualified for the issuance of a Secondary (SSC) / Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC), they will be assigned a grade based on one of the following grading systems:

  • 1. 80% and above Al Exceptional
  • 2. 70% and above but below 80% A Excellent
  • 3. 60% and above but below 70% B Very good
  • 4. 50% and above but below 60% C Good
  • 5. 40% and above but below 50% D Very fair
  • 6. 33% and above but below 40% E Fair
