Therefore,

Speed of Ram while rowing downstream

Speed of Ram while rowing upstream

= (x - y) k m / h r

Now, according to the question-

x + y = 220

Also,

x - y = 24

\Rightarrow x - y = 2 . . . . . (2)

Adding equation, we have

(x + y) + (x - y) = 10 + 2

2 x = 12
