Moon Sighting for Eid ul Adha 2023
The Ruet-e-Hilal committee, which serves as the top moon-sighting body in Pakistan, will gather today, Monday, in Karachi to search for the Zilhaj crescent. Led by Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad, the chief of the Ruet-e-Hilal committee, the central committee meeting will be attended by representatives from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, SUPARCO, Met Office, and the Ministry of Science and Technology at the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
Simultaneously, the zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal committees will convene at their respective headquarters tomorrow. These committees play a crucial role in determining the sighting of the moon, which will mark the beginning of the last month of the Islamic year.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has made a prediction that the Zil Hajj moon is likely to be sighted on June 19. According to their estimation, Eid ul Adha is expected to be celebrated on June 29th.
