In light of the prevailing inflationary conditions in Pakistan, rumors began circulating on social media alleging that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) would be introducing the 10000 rupee note Pakistan. As these rumors gained traction across various social media platforms, the SBP took the initiative to address the general public and provide clarification.
A spokesperson from the SBP informed a local media outlet that the reports regarding the issuance of higher denomination banknotes were entirely false. The spokesperson advised the public to remain vigilant and cautious in the face of such misinformation.

The circulation of these rumors also sparked discussions on Twitter and other platforms, where some individuals debunked the claims by pointing out that the name of SBP Governor Yasin Anwar was mentioned in an edited picture of the purported Rs10,000 note.
In a previous instance in 2018, the central bank had also dispelled similar rumors about the introduction of new currency notes, reaffirming their commitment to transparency and accurate information dissemination.
