The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s Forecast

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), there is a higher probability of sighting the new moon of Zilhajj 1444 Hijri on the evening of 19th June, the 29th of Ziquad. The Met Office has issued a statement stating that the new moon of Zilhajj 2023 will be born at 09:37 Pakistan Standard Time (PST) on 18th June, crossing the conjunction point. Consequently, based on astronomical parameters, the Zil Hajj Ka Chand 2023 is expected to be sighted on the eve of Monday, 19th June. Therefore, the 1st Zilhajj in Pakistan will fall on Tuesday, 20th June.

The Significance of the Zil Hajj ka Chand 2023

Zilhajj is the twelfth and final month of the Islamic calendar. It holds immense importance for Muslims due to the performance of the Hajj and the celebration of the Festival of the Sacrifice, known as Eid-ul-Adha.
